Channel Nine's hugely successful reality series, The Farmer Wants a Wife, is back in 2010 for its fifth series, and is again calling for potential singles, both men and women to apply.

With one marriage, two engagements and a baby, during the past four seasons, this TV show's results speak for themselves. The Farmer Wants a Wife is a heart compelling feel good story of love and romance. This is not a competition. There's no prize money and the only winner in the end is love.

I sat down with a nice cup of tea to fill in this application form, and have just finished - 4 hours later! Just a note of caution to ladies wanting to apply... Make sure you're comfortable and have a stock of nibbles and a jug of water (particularly if you have no air conditioning in this heat). You can't save the application, so you have to complete it in one sitting. There are some great questions in there and a fab bunch of Farmers who are well worth the effort (particularly the one I chose!). But I wish I hadn't started so late in the evening! x

All these farmers are after someone in their 20's or 30's, so anyone over the age of 39 basically need not apply. Seriously the executives couldn't find one or 2 farmers over the age of 40? I just think they have cut out a heck of alot of females who now won't be watching the show.

If you were running a farm with that kind of strike rate you would go broke! If the show was genuinely about match making rather than ratings then I believe they should do more with those who don't make it to the final darft, perhaps a Ball or a day at the races etc. Who knows what might come out of a bit of liquid mingling... Not a bad way to pass the evening though nonetheless, good luck to the station fella!

Hey, I'd love to apply for the show but where does a 45yr old woman fit in here? Whilst I'm not a housewife, a mother or a typical mid 40's woman and I think Farmer Shaun in WA is gorgeous, I just don't see a 31yr old guy being keen to date or choose someone in my age group! Is there room for us mid-40's gals on this show?

Did anyone else have trouble uploading photos with their application? It wouldn't even allow me to select a photo....let alone tell me it was the wrong size etc....What do I do now?

what happens if you are interested in applying for more than one of the farmers?? can you do this?

Hi Janice and Kay...glad to see you put your point accross too. Maybe they could do a show for the 50's and over. Once a country girl always a country girl.

The show is great, but where are the older guys. Please can we have some older guys. I am a mature person who doesn't fit into the 40's catergorie, but there must be some 50's out there, that are brave enough to go on national TV to find love.

hi, is any one else having trouble applying? it is coming up with 'restricted access' for me, I am over in the UK at the moment on holidays so was wondering if that is the reason or if everyone else is having trouble too??? thanks
